Xavier Canales Xavier Canales, 55, of Katy, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013. Mr. Canales was born July 20, 1957, in Corpus Christi to Maria (Alcala) and Benito Canales Sr. He was an inventory specialist for Seanic Ocean Systems and an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by his father, Benito Canales Sr.; his mother, Maria Canales; and his step-mother, Oralia Canales. Survivors include his children, Xavier Canales Jr., Candice Canales and Anthony Canales, all of Katy; two brothers, Mario (Inez) Canales of Beeville and Ben (Janice) Canales of San Antonio; two sisters, Gracie DeRusse of Corpus Christi and Yolanda Rendon of San Antonio; two half-brothers, Arthur Mena of Dallas and Rudy (Suzie) Mena of Corpus Christi; two half-sisters, Charlee (Art) Munsell of Corpus Christi and Rose Mena of San Antonio; a step-brother, Ricky Oliviera of Benavsides and three step-sisters, Rosie Oliviera of Benavides, DeeDee (Tito) Bernal of Beeville and Adriana (Henry) Alvidrez of Austin. Visitation was held from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Angelus Funeral Home. A rosary was recited there that evening at 7 o'clock. The funeral service was held there Wednesday, Jan. 30, at 10 a.m. with Deacon Paul Matula officiating. Burial followed in Beeville Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Anthony Canales, Kristofer Canales, Javier Canales, Javier Canales Jr., Hector Canales and Bobby Villapando. Angelus Funeral Home
