Roger “Loco” Martinez Franco slideshow Roger “Loco” Martinez Franco, 44, of Corpus Christi, died Thursday, April 24, 2014.
Mr. Franco was born Aug. 26, 1969, in Skidmore to Juaquina (Martinez) and Roberto Franco. He married Amanda Gonzalez Garcia and was a DJ by profession, a Catholic and a good storyteller.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roberto Franco; mother, Juaquina Martinez Franco; grandparents, Petra and Domingo Martinez Sr.; and a brother, Roberto Franco Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Amanda Garcia of Corpus Christi; mother, Sulema Franco of Taft; five sons, Rogelio (Jasmine Guerrero) Franco, Jesus Franco and Marcos Franco, all of Corpus Christi, Michael Anthony Franco of Kingsville and Jacob Scott Franco of Portland; three step-daughters, Rebecca (Nicholas) Garcia and Ashley (Ryan Lira) Garcia, both of Corpus Christi, and Arianna Arreola of Gregory Portland; a step-son, Sammy Gonzalez of Kingsville; two grandchildren, Roger “Welo” Franco III and Madilynn “Fro” Franco; four step-grandchildren, Nicholas Garcia, Michael Garcia, Alexavier Garcia and Javier Lira; two brothers, Lonnie (Lisa) Franco of Skidmore and Roberto (Norma Jane) Franco Jr. of Taft; a sister, Carmen (Christopher Jr.) Alleman of Portland; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation was held Sunday, April 27, from 2 to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home. A rosary was recited there that evening at 7 o’clock.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, April 28, at 2 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Skidmore with Father Zenon Konowalek officiating. Burial followed at Evergreen Cemetery in Skidmore.
Pallbearers were Lonnie Franco Sr., Robert Franco Jr., Lonnie Franco Jr., Ryan Lira, Richard Gonzalez, Ruben Garza, Adam Ramirez and Ruben Mendoza.
