Robert Camareno Sr.

Robert S. Camareno Sr., 71, of Beeville, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2013. Mr. Camareno was born July 3, 1942, in Cuero to Victoria Sustaita and Guadalupe Camareno. He married Rachel Perez in Cuero on July 13, 1963, and was a member of Maranatha Church of God. He worked for Charles Hunt Auto Co. and Dave Moore Ford for 19 years as a service writer and wrecker driver. He was also employed with the State of Texas Correctional Service System at the McConnell Unit in Beeville as a CO5 for 7 1/2 years. He enjoyed art, building bird houses, word finds and crossword puzzles. He especially enjoyed going to dances with his wife of 51 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Benito S. Camareno; two grandsons; and a great-grandson. Survivors include his wife, Rachel P. Camareno of Beeville; sons, Robert (Regina) Camareno Jr. of New Braunfels, Roland (Lori) Camareno of Corpus Christi and Ruben (Roxanne) Camareno of Round Rock; daughters, Cynthia (Juan) Arteaga, Yolanda (Michael) Sciba and Rachelle (Raymond Martinez) Camareno, all of Beeville; 27 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; sisters, Elisa Mendez and Eva (Juan) Gonzales, both of Corpus Christi, Rosa Salazar of San Benito and Gloria Ruiz of Cuero; a brother Rudy Camareno of Corpus Christi; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, at Angelus Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 o'clock. The funeral service will be conducted there Friday, Sept. 27, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Ben Drewry of Maranatha Church of God officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Camareno Jr., Roland P. Camareno, Ruben Camareno, Juan Arteaga, Michael W. Sciba, Robert L. Coronado Jr., Robert Camareno III and Roland Royce Camareno. Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Favela, Hector Vasquez Jr., Ruben A. Camareno Jr., Isaac Camareno, Caleb Camareno, Jayven Camareno, Maranda Camareno, Amanda Camareno, Crystal Vasquez, Deborah A. Mancias, Raceen Camareno, Lynesa Camareno, Mariah M. Vasquez, Cyra M. Glenn, Bryanna Camareno, Alexis D. Garza, Alethea R. Camareno, Jayciann Camareno, Ryan Camareno, Audrey Camareno, Samantha J.
