Rachel Canas

Rachel Canas, 79, died Friday, April 7, 2017. Mrs. Canas was born April 13, 1937, to Augustine and Eulalia Gonzales in Beeville. She was a housewife and enjoyed dancing and listening to music. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ramiro Canas Sr.; two sons, Joe and Epigmenio; one daughter, Josie; and two sisters, Anita DeRusse and Paula Ramirez. Survivors include one sister, Sarah (Paul) Loehr of Beeville; one brother; Thomas (Lola) Gonzales from West Minister, California; sons, Ramiro (Elvia) Canas Jr. and Juan (Rose) Canas, both of Sterling, Illinois, Oscar (Sally) Canas of Rock Falls, Illinois, Epigmenio (Darcy) Canas of Bettendorf, Iowa, and George (Naomi) Canas, Freddy Canas and Augustine Canas, all of Beeville; daughters, Clarita Menchaca of Corpus Christi, Martha (Antonio) Lopez of San Antonio and Rachel (Michael) Garza of Beeville; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life on Thursday, April 13, beginning at 10 a.m. at Angelus Funeral Home.
