Paulina (Corpus) Ruiz, 85, of Pettus, Texas, passed away Monday, January 7, 2019.
Mrs. Ruiz was born June 30, 1933, to Luis and Jesusa (Estrada) Corpus, in Alamo. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pettus and loved baking and making tamales.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luis and Jesusa Corpus; husband, Florentino Ruiz; sisters, Rosa Gaona and Cruz "Marty" Corpus; and daughter, Norma Ruiz.
She is survived by two sons, Greg (Elizabeth) Martinez of San Antonio and Gilbert (Yvette) Ruiz of Lewisville; three step-children, Sally Mendoza of Runge, Josie (Felix) Hernandez and Mary (Santos) Mariscal, both of Lockney; seven sisters, Victoria Reyna and Rosario Thus, both of Edinburg, Isabel Corpus of Grand Prairie, Benita (Chepo) Salazar of Garland, Anita Gaona of Oxnard, California, Rachel Rosales of Wichita Falls and Connie Perez of Amarillo; four brothers, Carlos Corpus of Wichita Falls, Lorenzo Corpus of Edinburg, Hector (Letty) Rosales of Pharr and Benito (Connie) Rosales of Mathis; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members.
Visitation will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at Angelus Funeral Home Chapel in Beeville, Texas. A rosary will be recited there that evening at 7 o'clock.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 10, 2019, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pettus, Texas.
Burial will follow in the Runge Cemetery in Runge, Texas.
