Pastor Garza

Pastor Jesus (Jesse) De La Garza, 53 of Beeville, Tx passed away January 25, 2012. His friends and family were by his side when he peacefully passed to be with his Heavenly Father. He was born to Refugio and Leonor (Lopez) De La Garza in Dimmitt, Tx on December 17, 1958. He was a graduate of Bethel Bible Institute and Logos Bible College where he received his bachelor's degree in theology. Pastor De La Garza was called into the ministry at the early age of 15 years old. He has been the pastor for Monte Del Olivar Christian Church for the past 10 years where he previously served as an associate pastor for 22 years. He also served as deacon, Sunday school teacher, president of the Men's Ministry, and counselor for young married couples. He was also a member of the Unified Pentecostal Local Churches, Inc. where he served on the board of The Financial Revision Report Commission. Pastor De La Garza had many friends, always seeing the good in everyone. He was always eager and ready to give them the word of God. He preached on having a relationship with the Lord instead of a religion. He will greatly be missed by all whose lives he impacted. He was a wonderful pastor, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Pastor De La Garza is survived by his wife of 35 years, Diana Rincon De La Garza; two daughters, Barbara (Joe) Gonzales, and Giovanna De La Garza; four grandchildren, Uriah Gonzales, Savannah Gonzales, Isaish Gonzales and Taylor Cano all of Beeville; three brothers, Jose (Florinda) De La Garza, of Hereford, Tx. Eleazar (Julia) De La Garza of Anton, Tx. and Refugio Jr, (Erminia) De La Garza of Plainview, Tx; three sisters, Maria Aurora (Ramon) Everett of Floydada, Tx, Oralia (Jose) Everett of Sudan, Tx, and Leonor (Jesse) Castillo of Hereford, TX. He was preceded in death by parents, grandparents an one brother. Visitation will be held from 1-9 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2012 at Monte Del Olivar Christian Church with prayer service at 7 p.m. that evening. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Monte Del Olivar Christian Church with Dr. Santiago (Jimmy) Longoria officiating. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe Gonzales, Mark Rincon, George Cano, Jr, Jeremy Everett, Jamie De La Garza, Jeffrey De La Garza, David Cruz, and Richard Guerrero. Honorary pallbearers are Balde Guerrero, Joe Cano, George Cano Sr., Dale Switzer, J.R. Martinez, Richard Segovia, Jim Henshall, Bill Freeman and Israel Segovia. Angelus Funeral Home
