Ofelia Gutierrez

Ofelia (Garcia) Gutierrez, 79, beloved mother, grandmother and sister, was called home to be with our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, August 25, 2021. She resided in Beeville, Texas until 2016 when she moved to Houston to be closer to family.

Mrs. Gutierrez was born September 20, 1941 in Beeville to Jesusa (Garza) and Martin Garcia. She married Daniel C. Gutierrez in Beeville on November 9, 1968. As a homemaker, she loved sewing and baking and was very active in her Baptist faith where she attended Clear Lake Baptist Church in Houston.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesusa and Martin Garcia; and her husband, Daniel C. Gutierrez.

Left behind to cherish fond memories include her daughters, Maria “Duby” Ortiz and Diana Davis; seven grandchildren, Robert D. Ortiz, Chasen A. Ortiz, Marquez C. Ortiz, Keanu A. Gutierrez, Elijah R. Davis, Jennifer Rayl and Justin Reese; 11 great-grandchildren, Ren Davis, Cyrus Ortiz, Leona Ortiz, Samantha Applebee, Austin Graves, Timothy Graves, Luke Graves, Michael Rayl, Brandon Reese, Felicia Reese and Cory Reese; and one sister and one brother.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, August 29, at Angelus Funeral Home followed by the funeral service at 2 o’clock with Pastor Hutch Hudson officiating. She will be laid to rest at Glenwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Robert Ortiz, Keanu Gutierrez, Chasen Ortiz, Elijah Davis, Marquez Ortiz and Jordan Sugarek.
