Nora Benavides

Nora R. Benavides, 77, of Beeville, died Tuesday, May 29, 2012. Mrs. Benavides was born Sept. 1, 1934, in Campbellton to Margarita Sotelo and Alejandro Rosales Sr. She married Frank N. Benavides in Pettus on Dec. 20, 1953, and was the owner and operator of Mi Familia Restaurant. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alejandro and Margarita Sotelo Rosales; two sisters, Hortencia Loza and Gloria Rosales-Tapia; two brothers, Abelardo Rosales and Ricardo S. Rosales. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Frank N. Benavides Sr. of Beeville; three sons, Frank Benavides Jr. of Beeville and George R. (Mary Ann) Benavides and Larry (Leticia) Benavides, both of Austin; two daughters, Nora Alice Benavides and Tiesha (Chris) Benavides-Cantu, both of Beeville; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, Michael (Shirley) Rosales and Baltazar (Herminia) Rosales, both of Indio, Calif., and Alejandro Rosales Jr. of San Gabriel, Calif.; and a sister, Alice (Reyes) Rosales-DeLeon of Indio, Calif. Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, May 31, at Angelus Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at St. Joseph Catholic Church that evening at 7 o'clock. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church Friday, June 1, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Richard Gonzales and Deacon Raul Rosales officiating. Burial will follow in Beeville Memorial Park.
