Mary (Chapa) Villa, a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away April 14, 2025, at Hacienda Oaks of Beeville, just 25 days after the passing of her beloved husband, Johnny Villa. She was 82.
Mary was born on November 21, 1942, in Skidmore to Refugio and Alicia (Arambilo) Chapa. She married Juan S. Villa on November 25, 1960, and throughout their 65 years of commitment and partnership, the couple created a nurturing home and wonderful memories. Mary enjoyed providing for her family, cooking for them and loving all of them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the heart of the family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Refugio and Alicia Chapa; a granddaughter, Selena Clevenger; her siblings, Refugio Chapa Jr., Ezekiel Chapa, Felicita Gutierrez and Raymond Chapa; and her beloved husband, Johnny Villa, who passed away on March 20, 2025.
Left behind to mourn the passing of their beloved mother are her three children, Rose Mary V. Banda, Juan Robert Villa and Diana Villa, all of Beeville; and three sisters, Esther Garcia of San Antonio, Lucia (Joe) Cisneros of Beeville and Yolanda (Jose) Cortez of Beaumont. Mary’s pride and joy were her 10 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren who loved their “Momo” and will miss her dearly.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 19, at Angelus Funeral Home in Beeville with a Rosary to be recited at 11 o’clock that morning.
The funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Deacon Roger Rosenbaum officiating. Mary will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Johnny, in the San Pedro Cemetery in Clareville.
Pallbearers will be John Villa, Lorenzo Banda, III, Michael Gomez, Christopher Lara and Matthew Villa and Manuel Buentello
Kenneth Soto will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
