Lee Goetz

Lee Walter Goetz, 80, of Elgin, died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018.
Mr. Goetz was born May 28, 1938 in Beeville to Albert and Mabel (Carlson) Goetz. He married Deidra "Dee" Caviness on Sept. 21, 1965, in Donna and he served in the U.S. Army. He was a welder by trade and retired from South Pacific Railroad. He was a member of the Pentecostal church and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, William Goetz; and a sister, Marion Elizabeth Goetz.
Survivors include his wife, Deidra "Dee" Goetz of Elgin; a daughter, Dana (Milton) Squires of Elgin; grandchildren, Ariel Squires and Naomi Squires; a sister, Lillian Wiede of Jourdandon; a sister-in-law, Willamena Martin of Gun Barrel City; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Aug. 11, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Angelus Funeral Home chapel.
A graveside service will be conducted that afternoon at 1 o'clock at Evangelical Free Cemetery in Pawnee with Pastor Walter Gilbert officiating.
Pallbearers will be Milton Squires, Raymond Squires, John Squires, Brandon Cruz, Bobby Wiede and Garth Dean.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Squires and Tommy Squires.
