Julian Hernandez

Julian "El Shorty" Hernandez, 69, of Beeville, died Wednesday, May 28, 2014. Mr. Hernandez was born April 7, 1945, in Beeville, to Octaviana (Salazar) and Ramon Hernandez. He married Josefa Gutierrez and worked for HP Zackery, Brown & Root, J E Merit and also as a ranch hand. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Maxima Salas and Theodosa Mendez; and a daughter-in-law, Irma Hernandez. Survivors include his wife, Josefa Hernandez of Beeville; three children, Julian Hernandez, Marcelino (Angie) Hernandez and George (Frankie) Hernandez, all of Beeville; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Erineo (Patricia) Hernandez, Guadalupe Hernandez and Juan Hernandez, all of Beeville; four sisters, Petra Rodriguez, Bertha Hernandez and Maria (Luis) Mata, all of Beeville, and Valentina (Clemente) Gonzalez of Alice; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 29, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited there that evening at 7 o'clock. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, May 30, at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church with Father Balaswamy Pasala officiating. Burial will follow in the Berclair Cemetery. Angelus Funeral Home
