Jose Hurtado

Jose Ramon Hurtado, 61, of Beeville, died Wednesday, June 22, 2011. Mr. Hurtado was born Aug. 31, 1949, to Esperanza (Martinez) and Bruno Hurtado. He married Adela Moreno in Beeville on Dec. 5, 1982, and was a carpenter and roofer. He was a Catholic. He was preceded in death by his father, Bruno Hurtado; and a nephew, Guadalupe Ramos. Survivors include his wife, Adela Hurtado of Beeville; children, Leeann (Neri Balderas) Hurtado, Lorina (Aldo Garcia) Hurtado, Vanessa Hurtado, Arturo (Lidia Luna) Hurtado, Ramon Hurtado Jr. and Ramon Gonzales Jr., all of Beeville, Luzelena (Ruben) Portillo of Goliad, and Maricela, Enedima and Sonia Hurtado, all of Leon, Mexico; 26 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and brothers and sisters, Maximino (Angelica) Hurtado, Miguel (Annabell) Hurtado and Julia Ramos, all of Beeville, Maria (Santos Guzman) de Laude's and Eufemia (Manuel) Ramos of Leon, Mexico, Guadalupe (Lorenzo Gomez) Ramos of Beeville and Maria Doleres (Raul) Ramos of Houston. Visitation will be held Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited there that evening at 7 o'clock. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. James Catholic Church Monday at 2 p.m. with Father Lukose Thirunelliparambil officiating. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2. Pallbearers will be Arturo Hurtado, Neri L. Balderas, Aldo Garcia, Ruben Portillo, Maximino Hurtado, Bruno Hurtado, Miguel Ramos and Ramon Gonzales Jr. Angelus Funeral Home
