Jose Casarez

Jose Antonio Casarez, 63, of Beeville, died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012. Mr. Casarez was born July 4, 1948, in Beeville to Victoria (Castro) and Jose O. Casarez. He married Maria Louisa Gonzales in Kenedy on July 5, 1972, and was a transportation driver for BCAA. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church and enjoyed welding. He was preceded in death by his father and a daughter, Kimberly J. Casarez. Survivors include his mother, Victoria Casarez of Beeville; his wife, Maria Louisa Gonzales Casarez of Beeville; two daughters, Monica Simone Carlin and Sonya Jo (Charlie Pineda) Casarez, both of San Antonio; three sisters, Imelda (Encarnacion) Garcia of Houston, Irma (Frank) Hernandez and Adriana Casarez, both of Austin; three grandchildren, Ashleigh Marie Pierce, Thomas Carlin IV and Sophia Josephine Carlin, all of San Antonio. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Jan. 4, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at St. James Catholic Church at 7 o'clock that evening. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, at the church with Father Balaswamy Pasala officiating. Pallbearers will be Charlie Pineda, David Sanchez, Frank Hernandez, Encarnacion Garcia, Domingo Salinas, Thomas Carlin III and Thomas Carlin IV. Honorary pallbearer will be Thomas Carlin IV.
