Joe Alaniz

Joe Louis Alaniz, 56, of Beeville, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014. Mr. Alaniz was born Dec. 26, 1957, in Tilden to Mary G. Garcia and Martin Alaniz. He worked for many years with Western Geophysical. He was preceded in death by his father, Martin Alaniz; and a sister, Linda Alaniz. Survivors include his mother, Mary G. Garcia of Beeville; four brothers, Lionel Alaniz, Lauro and Larry Garcia, all of Beeville, and Steven Alaniz of Pleasanton; a sister, Donna (Jason) Brister of Pleasanton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Oct. 29, from 3 to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited there that evening at 7 o'clock. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, at St. James Catholic Church with Rev. Balaswamy Pasala officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.
