Heriberto Nieto

Heriberto C. Nieto, 90, of Beeville, Texas passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023.

Heriberto was born March 17, 1932, in Pearsall, Texas to Simon L. and Concepcion Campos Nieto. He was a devoted loving Christian man and also had a great sense of humor and a cheerful personality. Heriberto was always a decent and respectable gentleman. He was an energetic, thoughtful, and caring man who was very involved with his entire family. He was very loved by all his family all the way down to the great-great nieces and nephews.

He was a musician and a composer who played several instruments guitar, violin, keyboard, and alto saxophone. He enjoyed listening to and playing English and Spanish Christian music and also other music that was written and composed by his father and other musicians. He enjoyed spending time with his entire family, especially on holidays and birthdays. He loved watching Houston Astros baseball games.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Simon L. and Concepcion Campos Nieto and a sister, Maria de la Paz Nieto.

Survivors include a sister, Guadalupe N. Puga; nieces and nephews, Adela P. (David) Amador, Carlos Puga, Rebecca P. (David) Abrigo, Ena P. (Alvin) Cruz, Ester P. (Frank) Moreno and Leonardo (JoAnn) Puga.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, January 20, at Angelus Funeral Home in Beeville with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. led by Pastor Joe Fuentes.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 21, at Angelus Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Beeville.

Pallbearers will be David Abrigo Jr., Jeremiah Cruz, Mark Cruz, Andrew Loya, Adrian Gonzales, and Eric Abrigo.

Honorary pallbearers will be Carlos Puga, Leonardo Puga, Alvin Cruz, David Abrigo, David Amador and Frank Loya.
