Gwendolyn Caviness

Gwendolyn Marie (Cox) Caviness, 96, of Elgin, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015. Mrs. Caviness was born July 24, 1919, in Huntington, Arkansas, to Henry and Minnie May Cox. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Loyd Caviness; brother, John L. Cox; sisters, Yvonne Cox and Aliene Lackey; and nephews, Damon Lackey and Randy Keats Lackey. Survivors include a daughter, Deidra (Lee) Goetz; granddaughter, Dana Squires; two great-granddaughters; a nephew, Terry Lackey; and a great-nephew. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 26, at Angelus Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at Evangel Free Pawnee Cemetery with Pastor Walter Gilbert officiating. Pallbearers will be Milton Squires, John Squires, Brandon Cruz, Robert Weide, Jeff Weide and John Smith. Honorary pallbearer will be Lee Goetz.
