Guadalupe (Rodriguez) Silvas

Mrs. Guadalupe “Wally” (Rodriguez) Silvas, 89, of Beeville, Texas passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 22, 2024, with her loving family beside her.

Guadalupe was born April 2, 1935, in Beeville to Diego and Guadalupe (Garcia) Rodriguez. She was well known for her warm spirit and laughter and was often described as very funny, with a remarkable ability to bring joy to those around her.

Guadalupe dedicated her life to her family and cherished moments spent with them. She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and being “Mom,” “Grandma” and “Wela” were her favorite roles. Her fur baby, Coco, and cat Mia, whom she loved dearly, brought her daily comfort, companionship and happiness.

Known for her passion for gardening and cooking, Guadalupe enjoyed nurturing both her plants and her family's spirit, sharing meals filled with love. One of her simple pleasures included watching "The Price is Right," which would bring her much excitement as she played along and rooted for the contestants.

Guadalupe was preceded in death by her parents, Diego and Guadalupe Rodriguez; her beloved husband, David F. Silvas Sr.; her son Victor Silvas; and three brothers and two sisters.

Left behind to cherish fond memories include her daughter, Teresa “Terry” Silvas of Beeville; a son, David Silvas Jr. of San Antonio; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends; as well as her loveable pets, Coco and Mia.

A viewing to honor Guadalupe’s memory will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, October 25, at Angelus Funeral Home with a Rosary led by Deacon Roger Rosenbaum to be recited at 7 o'clock.

Burial of cremains will be private.
