Surrounded by her loving family, Guadalupe “Lupe” J. Alcorta, 95, of Skidmore, Texas, passed from this world into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on May 3, 2024.
Lupe was born June 15, 1928, in Edroy to Manuel Juarez Sr. and Leonor (Reyes) Juarez. She married Manuel T. Alcorta on August 7, 1959, in Bee County. As a strong and faithful Christian woman, Lupe served numerous years as a deacon at Monte Del Olivar now known as Kingsway Church. Her remarkable faith and love for Jesus was her biggest joy in life. She was a devoted follower of Christ praising Him and reading her Bible each and every day.
She was also a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and cared for her family with tenderness and compassion. Her hobbies included sewing, embroidery and making blankets and she loved spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonor and Manuel Juarez Sr.; her husband, Manuel Alcorta, on December 2, 1982; and two sisters, six brothers, one grandson and one great-granddaughter.
Left behind to cherish fond memories are three sons, Reynaldo Alcorta of Skidmore, Juan (JoAnn Perez) Alcorta of Beeville and Ramiro “Chico” (JoAnn) Alcorta of Victoria; a brother, Vicente Juarez of Washington State; eight grandchildren, Amy (Marcus) Martinez, Melissa Alcorta, Jennifer Alcorta (Reymundo Garza), Jessica Alcorta, Michael Alcorta, Clarissa (Jeff) Harrison, Denise (JJ) Jimenez and Jeanette Perez; 19 great-grandchildren, Israel, Kayla, Jaxon, Tres, Javi, Addy, Nicholas, Temo, Braedon, Bryce, Madden, Haylee, Madison, Lively, Drake, Savannah, Angelo, Anthony and Angelina; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, May 6, at Angelus Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 o’clock.
The funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, at Kingsway Church with Pastor Isaac De Los Santos officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Skidmore.
Pallbearers will be Reynaldo Alcorta, Michael Alcorta, Drake Hale, Ramiro “Chico” Alcorta, Israel Martinez and Tres Molina.
