Frank Cortez

Frank A. Cortez Sr., 84, of Beeville, died Monday, April 27, 2015. Mr. Cortez was born Dec. 19, 1930, in Oakville to Maria (Angiano) and Hernan Cortez. He married Maria Carabajal in Oakville in 1950 and was a farmer. He was preceded in death by two sons, Frank Cortez Jr. and Raul (Whitey) Cortez; a daughter, Mary Christina Cortez; a sister, Elena Rivera; and a brother, Gilberto Cortez. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Maria Cortez of Beeville; nine daughters, Hilda (Floyd) Weaver of Michigan, Anita (Olivar) Esparza and Belia (Juan) Rodriguez, both of Eagle Pass, Velma (Ruben) Posada, Olga (Cecil) Diaz Jr., Silvia (Johnny) Silvas, Connie (Luis) Garza and Mary (Carlos Perez) Cortez, all of Beeville, and Rachel (Joe Louis) Gutierrez of George West; two sons, Eddie (Delia) Cortez of Beeville and Michael (Nelda) Chapa of George West; three brothers, Hernan (Isabel) Cortez of George West, Richard (Mary Lou) Cortez of Alice and George (Dora) Cortez of Three Rivers; two sisters, Delia (Luis) Gutierrez and Delfina (Joe) Davila, both of Oakville; 30 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; and four great-great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 29, from 1 to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited there that evening at 7 o'clock. The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 2, at Oakville Cemetery with Deacon Roger Rosenbaum officiating. Angelus Funeral Home
