Esther Montoya

Esther (Guerrero) Montoya, 76, of Beeville, died Wednesday, July 3, 2019.

Mrs. Montoya was born Aug. 21, 1942 in Galveston to Teodora (Cuellar) and Carlos Estrada Guerrero Sr. She married Jacob Thomas Montoya in Beeville on Dec. 5, 1970. She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Altar Society and was employed in child development programs and day care centers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Teodora and Carlos Guerrero Sr.; her husband, Jacob Thomas Montoya; and two brothers, Carlos Guerrero Jr. and Baldemar Guerrero.

Survivors include a daughter, Kris Montoya (Robert Ayres) of Converse; three grandchildren, Dezirey Montoya, Vicente Jay Barrera III and Jaina Sifuentes; two sisters, Elsa Marie Guerrero of Beeville and Mary Melinda (Raul) Garza of Austin; a brother, Adrian Scott Guerrero of Beeville; two sisters-in-law, Bertha V. Guerrero and Angie R. Guerrero; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 8, at Angelus Funeral Home Chapel. A rosary will be recited there that evening at 7 o’clock.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi.
