Esiquia Cervantes

Esiquia (Cardenas) Cervantes, 83, of Beeville, died Wednesday, April 25, 2012. Mrs. Cervantes was born March 28, 1929, in Beeville to Juan and Florentina Tapia Cardenas. She was a homemaker and a member of the Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sabino Cervantes; her parents; a daughter, Nieves Cervantes; brothers, Rosendo Cardenas, Gilberto Cardenas, Jose Cardenas and Juan Cardenas Jr.; a sister, Lina Aleman; and her second husband, Clemente Serrano. Survivors include a daughter, Paula (Juan) Morin of Virginia; sons, Adam Cervantes of Seguin, Joe (Yolanda) Cervantes, George Contreras and Juanito Cervantes, all of Beeville; brothers, Francisco Cardenas and Silverio (Evangelina) Cardenas, both of Beeville, and Herman (Amelia) Cardenas of Edcouch; sisters, Aurora Gomez and Maria Magdalena Gonzales (Margarito Casas), both of Beeville; several stepchildren; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family members. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, April 27, at Angelus Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited there that evening at 7:30. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, April 28, at 1 o'clock at the funeral home with Father Balaswamy Pasala officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Lewis Morin, Anthony Cervantes, Jimmy Morin, Joe Lewis Cervantes Jr., Ronnie Morin and Adrian Morin. Honorary pallbearer will be John Paul Morin. Angelus Funeral Home
