Carlos Rodriguez Sr.

Carlos "Chale" Rodriguez Sr., 85, of Mathis, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016. Mr. Rodriguez was born July 26, 1930, in Tynan to Ignacio and Martina "Cruz" Rodriguez. He was a ranch hand and a Catholic. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Juan Rodriguez; three brothers, Gustavo Rodriguez, Juan Rodriguez and Adan Rodriguez; and three sisters, Manuela Canales, Lucynda Gonzales and Eloisa Perez. Survivors include one son, Carlos Rodriguez Jr. of George West; a brother, Louis Rodriguez of Chicago, Illinois; five grandchildren, Joel Rodriguez, Juan Rodriguez Jr., Joe Anthony Rodriguez, Larry Rodriguez and Olivia Rodriguez; and numerous great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24, at Angelus Funeral Home, Beeville. A rosary will be recited there that evening at 7 o'clock. The chapel service will be conducted at noon Monday, Jan. 25, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Tynan with Father Tom Goodwin officiating. Burial will follow in Waldheim Cemetery in Tynan.
