Asencion Vasquez

Asencion Vasquez, 88, of Beeville, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014. Mrs. Vasquez was born Aug. 15, 1926, in Yorktown to Maria (DeLaRosa) and Leandro Diaz. She was a homemaker and a Catholic. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leandro and Maria Diaz; her husband, Manuel Vasquez in 1980; and a grandson, Esteban Hernandez. Survivors include seven children, Mary Lou (Mando) Molina and Olga Hernandez, both of Sugar Land; Stephanie (Frank) Loya, Sarah (Augustine Ortiz) Rodriguez, Daniel Vasquez and Anita Puente, all of Beeville, and Mary Jane (Ellis Jr.) Herrera of Corpus Christi; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Maria Diaz of Beeville and Eulalia Gauna of Karnes City. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Oct. 22, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited there that evening at 7:30. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, at St. James Catholic Church with Rev. Balaswamy Pasala officiating. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2. Pallbearers will be Geraldo Hernandez, Emanuel Puente, Richard Molina, David Hernandez, Manuel Antonio Rodriguez, Marcos Perez, Ellis Herrera III and Matthew Herrera. Angelus Funeral Home
