Amelia Villarreal Martinez, 72, of Tynan, died Monday, Aug. 8, 2011. Mrs. Martinez was born Aug. 30, 1938, in Mathis to Elisandro and Francisca (Trevi�o) Villarreal. She married Severiano Martinez and was a homemaker and a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Mario Martinez; a granddaughter, Sonia Vanecek; and four brothers. Survivors include three daughters, Olivia (Lee) Gunter of Willis, Lucy Vanacek and Beatrice Martinez, both of Tynan; six sons, Juan (Solia) Moreno of Oklahoma, Severiano (Rita) Martinez of Willis, Baldemar (Mary) Martinez of Sinton, Manuel Martinez of Conroe, Rene (Eva) Martinez of Mathis and Ramiro Martinez of Tynan; three sisters, Santos Cantu of George West, Elvira (Jesus) Gonzales and Esmeralda Villarreal, both of Mathis; 27 grandchildren; and 42 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held today (Wednesday) from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited there this evening at 7 o'clock. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Father Lukose Thirunelliparambil officiating. Burial will follow in Descanso Eterno #2 Cemetery in Mathis.
