Amador C. Chapa Sr., 80, of Beeville, formerly of Pettus, died Sunday, May 27, 2012. Mr. Chapa was born Dec. 17, 1931, in Choate to Herminio and Enemencia Canales Chapa. He was a backhoe operator by profession and a member of Sacred Heart and Our Lady of Victory Catholic churches. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Servando and Feliz Chapa; a sister, Erminia Gonzalez; and a great-grandson. Survivors include his wife, Francisca Chapa of Beeville; two sons, Juan (Janie) Chapa and Amador (Yolanda) Chapa Jr., both of Pettus; three daughters, Rose (Walter) Petelle and Anna (Robert) Chavez, both of San Antonio, and Susan (Carlos) Lopez of Beeville; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one sister, Amelia Caballero of Pettus; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 30, from 3 to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited there that evening at 7 o'clock. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, May 31, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pettus with Father Lukose Thirunelliparambil officiating. Burial will follow in Runge Cemetery.
